The role

We’re looking for a generalist marketer to join the early Lakehub Academy team, and help build a revolutionary new free-to-access, diversity, equity and inclusion focused coding school from the ground up.

About you

As the Marketing and Communications Associate, you MUST possess:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant marketing experience either leading or supporting within a marketing function covering social media, PR, content creation and distribution, events etc.
  • Strong presentation design and layout skills
  • Demonstrable interest in the tech and/or education sectors
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products quickly and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff across the organisation
  • Sensitive and efficient stakeholder management and reporting skills
  • A collaborative approach where you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting into whatever needs doing most
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills alongside high emotional intelligence
  • A passion for tackling inequality in the tech sector and broader society
  • Proactive, resourceful and entrepreneurial
  • Work-ready English language 


Reporting to the CEO, and working regularly with the Head of Ops regarding student related activity, the Marketing Associate will be a generalist marketer who’s excited to grow the business’s marketing function, engaging with prospective and current students and spreading the message of 01 Network of school to relevant audiences.

This will include:

  • Leading on Lakehub Academy marketing efforts e.g. social media (inc. paid social), copywriting, press releases and press engagement, student attraction event planning and execution.
  • Ownership of the Lakehub Academy CRM to manage the upkeep and input of data (MQL, partner data, and student signups) ensure channel communications are tracked against individual records.
  • Working directly with marketing partners e.g. agencies and freelancers, liaising between the school operations team and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting student acquisition and retention initiatives e.g. promoting and supporting the operation of open days, hackathons and other campus activities.
  • General marketing ops support e.g. working with the Head of Operations on student onboarding, tracking diversity metrics, integrating the marketing function into all business processes
  • Working with corporate and community partners e.g. helping with business development, partner acquisition and account management
